DragonBet may have been founded in Wales, but it operates in a number of countries including Ireland. Since 2022 the online bookmaker has devoted time and effort into creating an acclaimed and honourable platform that punters can use safely and with enjoyment. As with any betting site, our review will discuss the highs and lows of DragonBet, and why it is the first choice for punters in Ireland specifically.
Irish Free Bet Offer
The number one question most punters have regarding sports betting is concerning the welcome offer. Starting on the right foot with a generous bonus is usually enough to convince users to join, and subsequently the ongoing promotions convince users to return. DragonBet has an Irish free bet offer which is only available in the territory, and for customers signing up for the first time.
As soon as you load the platform, you will get a notification to explain the welcome bonus. It is 50% back as a free bet up to €25 on your first day’s losses, which counts only on settled bets by 23:59 on your first day. You must have placed at least three bets with a minimum stake of €5 to qualify, which is noticeably a lot of wagers for your first day and can be stressful considering they must be settled by the end of the day. Overall, this is a good welcome offer but the terms and conditions must be read carefully before committing.
Sports Markets Covered
The four main events covered at DragonBet are Welsh events, Rugby Union, football, and horse racing. In total, there are 22 other sports such as motor sport, greyhound racing, politics, golf, handball, cricket, cycling, boxing, baseball, basketball, American football, and Formula 1. Furthermore, there is Gaelic football and Gaelic hurling.
Rugby Union competitions include Six Nations, European Rugby Championship, Super Rugby Cymru Cup, WRU Premiership, WRU Championship East, Super Rugby Pacific, France Top 14, and World Cup.
Welsh events include World Cup Qualifiers, England Championship, Snooker Players Championship, and Darts Premier League.
Football betting includes leagues from all over the world, like Argentina, Brazil,Wales, Egypt, Thailand, England, Germany, Italy, Morocco, Scotland, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Slovakia, and Spain. For some of these events there are bet builders, price boosts, and special bonuses. The live tracker visualises matches and provides information on assists, goals, cards, and scores.
Ongoing Promotions
DragonBet has a modest number of promos, which all punters in Ireland can utilise.
Prices Boosts
The price boosts at DragonBet are right in front of you and hard to miss. Examples include:
- ATP and WTA Tennis Boosts
- Champions League Treble Boosts
- Cheltenham Boosts
- T20 World Cup Boosts
On top of that, there are price boosts every day on singles, bet builders, and accumulators.
Non-Runner No Bet
Non-runner no bet is a horse racing promotion that applies to selected, not all, races. Generally, you should check the terms and conditions of a race to know which bonuses apply. Non-runner no bet means that if the horse you bet on is declared a non-runner, you will get your stake back. It is commonly only on major horse racing events, in DragonBet’s case, the Cheltenham Festival. There are several reasons why this might be, like injury, death, track problems, weather, horse refusal, and jockey issues.
Best Odds Guaranteed
Best Odds Guaranteed is a DragonBet promotion that is again for horse racing. It means that all races in the UK and Ireland have the BOG offer on singles bets after 11 am on race day. For instance, if you bet on a Punchestown race at 11.30 am and the Starting Price is higher than the odds you initially bet on, you will get the higher price.
Payment Options
DragonBet, regrettably, only offers Visa and MasterCard payment options. You can also use Apple Pay. Nowadays, this isn’t a varied or helpful range of methods, and so could be off-putting to some punters in Ireland. There is no set maximum withdrawal per day but withdrawals over €20,000 will require more processing. As the payment methods are limited to debit card, withdrawals take longer and typically will be processed in 3 to 5 business days.
Why Choose DragonBet
As DragonBet is a reputable betting site in Ireland, punters are interested in the features that make it superior to other bookmakers. This includes criteria like a well-thought-out platform, a mobile app, bonuses, sports programs, customer support, and interactive features. Below is a list of all the positives of choosing DragonBet.
Easy Registration
Registering with DragonBet is easy because the platform is organised well and a pop-up appears as soon as you launch the website. Likewise, on the DragonBet mobile app, the screen shows “Sign Up” or “Register” from the very beginning. So, we can safely say that the platform is straightforward. Enter your email, create a password, and enter your promo code if it isn’t already pasted automatically. Later down the line, you may be asked to verify your identity using government documents, and you will need to choose a payment method and link your accounts to make deposits and withdrawals.
Download The DragonBet App
The DragonBet app is newer than the website, therefore it makes sense why there are few reviews or downloads in comparison. With this being said, the app is easy to navigate and bet with, as stated by several users. Whilst DragonBet is established in Wales, and accordingly focuses on Welsh sports, there are so many other sports around the world that you can bet on. In-play betting is offered on rugby, basketball, football, and many other sports based on the time and date you are playing. There is live streaming of over 1,000 races per year, and the bet builder allows you to mix and match different markets from one game. Customer services are helpful, but the real highlight is #DragonBet which you can send on X to match or beat odds from a different app.
Football Bet Builder
As football has hundreds of markets, which is normal for all betting sites, it makes sense that the Football Bet Builder is one of the most-used features on DragonBet. Heading over to the football sports section, you can select a competition from the drop-down menu or choose from the top competitions listed such as the UEFA Champions League and England Premier League. The Bet Builder isn’t available on every league, and strangely isn’t listed on many Welsh events like Cymru North. However, prestigious leagues like the France Ligue 1 and Italy Serie A have the Bet Builder option, in addition to the majority of English games. Also, there aren’t any Irish football leagues. A wide array of betting markets is offered, mainly total goals over/under betting and individual player assists, red cards, and headers.
Racing Live Streaming
Racing is a significant sport that is important to punters, especially those in Ireland. As luck would have it, DragonBet offers Best Odds Guaranteed to UK and Irish races, and streams a diverse range of races live, free of charge. Races like Punchestown, Ludlow, and Southwell have both of these features offered. Also, Cheltenham Festival betting also has the added Non-Runner No Bet promotion we mentioned previously. On Wednesdays, there are racing specials, for instance Willie Mullins To Train 2 Or More Winners At Punchestown. By downloading the app you can promptly watch the races, or use the website which is just as practical but may suffer from more lagging.
Live Betting
In-play betting is available on sports like football, tennis, cricket, and ice hockey. It is available on most sports, however some have short seasons or fewer major events and therefore don’t commonly appear on the live betting page. The live tracker shows the main shifts in the matches, because there is no live streaming. For instance, when you are placing a live tennis bet, it will show the set, the games, the score, and which serve the match is currently on.
Safety Tools
The safety tools at DragonBet are:
- Reality Checks: DragonBet will send you notifications to remind you how long you have been playing (for example 1 hour) so you don’t get carried away
- Time-Out: a temporary break from betting up to six weeks
- Self-Exclusion: a longer break from betting up to five years
DragonBet Conclusion
DragonBet Ireland is a reliable bookmaker that has excellent safety tools, a functional mobile app, and a small number of ongoing promotions. The betting site has many positives including its live streaming and interactive team, but adding more bonuses would palpably attract more customers and augment the bettor experience. all, safe.
