Champions League Favourites – Can PSG Beat Barcelona? Current Odds

With the air turning crisp in a morning, the nights drawing in, and the distant scent of pumpkin spice latte lingering in the air, this can only mean one thing – autumn is upon us. While autumn offers a welcome respite from the sun and insects, it also signifies the return of football. Hooray!

As national football leagues return, European football is also set to return, and if last season’s tournament is anything to go by, this year’s will surely be more exciting than ever.

Last time around, it was Arsenal whom were favourites for much of the tournament, especially when they were still on for the quad. Ultimately, though, it was Paris Saint-Germain, better known as PSG, who lifted the trophy in May, for the second time on the bounce.

Needless to say, with the defending champions looking to make it a treble, most would agree that the smart money is on them. Barcelona, however, will have something to say about that.

So can PSG beat Barcelona for the Champions League, or could we see an upset? Here’s what the bookmaker’s think.

PSG Current Favourites

When you look at the fact that PSG won the Champions League in both 2024/25 and 2025/26, it’s clear that they thrive in this tournament. European football obviously suits them, which is hardly surprising given the quality of the squad, and their track record since their substantial cash injection in the 2010s.

PSG has been home to some of the best players in the entire world, including Kylian Mbappe, whom is currently flying with Real Madrid. Currently however, it is Ousmane Dembele who is arguably their star player. With his rapid pace, and composure in front of goal, if he stays fit he could prove to be the deciding factor when it comes to PSG’s Champions League hopes, and their hopes of winning three on the trot.

Currently, PSG are favourites with the bookmakers as both BOYLE Sports and BetVictor are offering 5/1 odds.

Barcelona Real Contenders

Although PSG are currently favourites, you must remember that it’s early on in the season, and Barcelona already look very dangerous in La Liga. In fact, as of this writing they sit top of the table on goal difference.

Last season didn’t go to plan in Europe, although they did still secure their 29th La Liga title. As Lamine Yamal returns to fitness, and appears to be finding the back of the net again, the Spanish youngster will be one to watch.

Currently, BetVictor are offering 5/1 odds for Barca, while BOYLE Sports have them at 11/2, so you can see how tight it is.

Other Teams to Watch

Although PSG and Barcelona are favourites, there are still a number of teams to watch closely over the next 9 months or so.

Arsenal for example, are 5/1 with BetVictor, so you can see how close they expect the tournament to be this year. BOYLE Sports are offering 6/1 odds.

If Harry Kane continues to impress at Bayern, you’ll enjoy 6/1 odds with BOYLE Sports, and 11/2 with BetVictor.

Finally, with Jose Mourninho now back in charge at Real Madrid, they’re looking incredibly dangerous again, particularly Jude Bellingham and Mbappe. Real, who are the most decorated club in the competition, are also 11/2 with BetVictor, and 13/2 with BOYLE Sports.
